Requesting A Bid |
|
|
At Great Lakes Stair and Steel, we have experience
with all sizes of projects. We work with a wide variety
of clients, ranging from large general
contractors and developers to the homeowner needing one
small railing or stair. We also have the capability
in-house to create engineering blueprints (see our
CAD Tools page for examples) for those
clients that aren't
able to provide their own. If you have the prints ready, you can mail them to us
with a request for bid. If you don't have prints, the basic
steps involved in getting a bid on a project are: |
- The client calls or
emails us with their project idea.
- If we have accurate
dimensions, we can bid it. If not, you'll
need to provide us with all of the details
you possibly can, including size,
dimensions, special requirements, etc.
- We'll work up a bid and
respond back to you with our bid proposal.
- Once we have a signed
proposal back, we'll generate shop drawings.
- We then submit the
drawings to the client (or architect for
larger jobs) for approval. If changes need
to be made, this step can be repeated as
necessary.
- At some point, we'll go
to the jobsite to measure it ourselves. The
pricing for any given job can vary, depending on how many site
visits are required.
- Once we receive the
approved drawings back, we can start fabrication.
- On smaller jobs, we
normally require 35% of the price up front.
- Once fabrication is
complete, we'll schedule and perform the
installation.
- The balance of payment is
due Net 30.
